[Switchblade]

Oh man, this was a good one. A fun guest character, a big reveal about the show's overarching plot, some awesomely weird cinematography, and a lot of general off-the-wall craziness. I really got an old school Garo vibe off of this episode - it definitely felt like something we'd have seen in the original or Makai Senki. Ryuga and Rian both got some good moments here and Takeru got to do something other than moon over the high school girl again. All in all a great episode.

We got our first reference to vague Kouga, too, with the Horror of the week mentioning the legacy of Garo. And next week it looks like we may finally get to see at least some of the story of how Ryuga got the armor.

I think the part about the singing statues wasn't a lie, I almost forget about them until now.
But... to connect to the SG1 database with a magic brush was awkward. An overall good episode.

The comedy noises got on my nerves a bit, but other than that this was another great episode. A lot of moments that were really chilling without having anything particularly horror about them, thanks to that singing.

We watched both 13 and 14 tonight and I am quite impressed. I highly enjoyed both episodes for multiple reasons. Despite the lack of armor in Hyena, the episodes featured plot and had a Garo feel to them. It also made me want to know what Burai is hiding. Why did he have one of the scrolls? Oh, and I guess we now know who the final villain will be.
