I made this thread for all the podcasts that people wouod want to talk about/recommend.
Podcasts I listen to: Comedy Button: Its a bunch if former videogame journwlists talking about life. Its a total brodude show when the sex talk comes up but when its an actual inteligiable topic, the show is actually pretty funny. Its a show about nothing. It has about 100 episodes out now, so there's a backlog if you want to start. It also has been coming out weekly and each episode is around an hour long. Geekbox: One of the regulars on the Comedy button hosts this show, which is mostly nerd talk but alao has some general disscussion. This has a different cast then the comedy button, but your emotional connection with the speakers tend to be weaker due to not putting themselves out there as the Comedy Button cast. This also goes up weekly, with episodes tending to be an hour or an hour and a half long episodes. HJU Radio: I discovered this podcast recently, and it has really great toku disscussions. I listened to thier Kamen Rider Wizard episode and that 2 hour Wizard disscussion was very poetic and deep analysis. Granted, discussions can get WAAAAYYY too intense sometimes but I think that comes with the territory. However, this podcast only has new episodes once every few weeks or a month. I like to compare this podcast to a top shelf alcohol, that you take a slow sip of, savoring the flavor when you can rarely get it. Riders, Rangers, & Rambles: Keeping with the alcohol metaphor, RRR is like the bottom shelf alcohol that is behind the decent stuff. It sometimes might be decent but it tends to be horrendiously terrible and bad for your health. But the selling point is that there's a lot of it for cheap. RRR is a combination of all 3 podcasts above but is master of none. I generally keep it on as enertainment over along stretch of time (Like listening to while working with my dad for 12 hours in the hot sun). Since episodes tend to be 2 1/2 to 4 hours in lenegth, I could blow through 3 or 4 RRR episodes out of 3 years worth compared to the amount of other shows I like with shorter run time and backlog. If I run out of those podcasts, I tend to go searching, which tends to not go well. Knockin' Boots: After hours sexual and relationship advice from former and current IGN editiors. Listeners send in questions asking for advice and they answer. Another bro dude show, but the occasional girl on the show changes the pace. The podcast used to be free and on IGN, but then it split from IGN and became Suoer Knockin' boots and now costs money. I've listened to the free Super Knockin' Boots the host occasionally puts up on youtube but it doesn't seem worth it. Theoretically, its dating advice for gamers by gamers, but it rewlly doesn't make a difference. Its not like the Comedy Button where most of the letters are obviously autistic. Super Knockin' boots goes up whenever and costs a dollar or two. |
