I think you might have made a little mistake in that sentence- he already IS a father and he already was before his acting career.

In Japan, this is quite a thing. Japanese actors usually keep relationships a secret because it's actually not allowed for idols to be in relationships. So it's quite clear that an illegitimate child is even more of a scandal than just a relationship.

Ozawa took a really brave step in admitting this. He seems like a really responsible person, willing to support his family despite all this. The feedback in the comments also seemed surprisingly positive, so I hope this will have some influence on the industry, with people being more open and relaxed towards those topics from now on.
