So with the show wrapping up and Yuuki getting her own arc, I was kind of curious about something. It seems like one of the recurring trends amongst Fourze watchers over the last couple of months has been a growing animosity towards the character of Yuuki Joujima. At this point I'm hearing a decent amount of people saying that they can't stand her and she's become so mentally deranged that she's totally intolerable. I'm also aware that there are people out there who still find her lovably quirky. So I'm curious, what does tokunation.com thing of Yuuki?

Personally, I really liked her at first. I thought she was a fun character and that she was absolutely adorkable. Over the last couple months, though - and especially after the Aquarius arc - I just can't stand her. For me she's crossed the line (which I dub the "Zooey Deschanel Threshold") between charmingly quirky and irritatingly obnoxious. I pretty much dread it whenever she gets screentime anymore, as more likely than not she's going to do something stupid and annoying. I'm not sure why or how this happened, but I really like the theory put forth on the HJU Radio podcast: that she's been standing too close to Gentaro when he transforms and excess cosmic energy has been deteriorating her brain cells.

I find Yuuki represents the kind of people you meet rarely- there just so strange, so unorthodox, so abnormal, you know she's going to the stars. So in other words, I relate to her. I can be annoying, I'll be the first to admit, and you really should have seen me in the Air and Space Smithsonian, but I'm still lovable (even though I had to be punched repeatedly).

I'm with you, Switchblade. At first (well, past the first 4 or so episodes), I found her quirky and her interactions with other characters to be fun, often when she had to play mediator between Kengo and Gen.
However, the Aquarius arc was made to specifically bring up her more annoying tendencies and ramp them up to 11, and it was painful. Now it seems the writers decided to keep her in this super annoying, can barely act, state.

It's like they hit cute and lovably quirky, and then just kept going, and I hate listening to her now.

If you compare the way she acts in the earlier show to how she is today, you can definitely see where the director/producer asked the actress to go bigger, which does borderline annoying, but maybe that's so that the Gemini Arc would make sense, and have Yuuki return to normal after?

Yuki can be odd at times, but out of all the KRC members she's one the one I like the most, with only the Riders and Tomoko being higher than her popularity wise. Aquarius wasn't her best moment, but her arc with Dark Yuki has brought a tad more character to her.

Plus she's a lovable dork that loves space.

I sided with Erin during the Aquarius arc. She's just become obnoxious, even though I really did like her at first. Never getting to space with that sort of attitude.

I used to like her but she's worn a bit thin with me lately.

She was adorable at first, but later on as the series went on I felt they went a biiiiiiiit too over board with her...but I think having her as Gemini kinda explains why she went nuts.
