I will admit, I never saw Kiba Gaiden until the other night... and was somewhat disappointed. I was hoping for more movie, and less poorly drawn backstory. Bado, though, kicked some ass.

The Kiba special is not something you watch for the story. You watch it because it has some really great visual pieces and a little bit of background for Makai Senki.

I could have sworn I watched everything for it's story... that being said, I just wish it was something other than what we got.

What I meant was that the special's story wasn't particularly engaging or interesting and that the visuals are the primary draw for watching it.
