Two Power Rangers Related Exclusives for SDCC From Bluefin?

It's not going to be either of these. The Operation Overdrive set is a known retail release and doesn't ship for two months after SDCC. As for the former, early releases of figures are neither "exclusives" nor something Bluefin has ever done in the past. The only thing reasonably close to that was when D-Arts Vile premiered at last year's show, while the rest of Bluefin's stock shipped to distributors in the following weeks. The only thing making Vile's release early was that Bluefin simply shipped their own allotment to the show directly after receipt, but its release in the US wasn't otherwise sped up. Green Ranger could be this year's Vile, but that won't make him an exclusive.

Expectations of wholly new figures are extreme, but so is this bizarre backswing to ideas like this. Everyone should take a look at what exclusives Bluefin has released in years past if you want to make better-informed discussions on what we could be receiving this year. Or, just wait it out, we'll undoubtedly know what these figures actually are very soon considering it's only about a month before SDCC.

Eh, Bluefin may not have not it in the past but others sure have. Hasbro had an early release of Rodimus Prime as a "SDCC Exclusive" and as far as I know the only difference may have been a sticker on the box saying such. I think its a small possibility, but still a possibility.

Yep! Twitter account confirmed it the same night they went up for sale on Tamashii Web, and it's been on the Bluefin website.

(Just in case someone asks, no, you can't order from the Bluefin website, only licensed retailers can. It's only useful to the rest of us for reference and MSRP.)

It's not about the chance of it happening or not, it's the wording. Bluefin isn't going to call an early release an exclusive, not when they're talking about figures needing approval and such. I already brought up the possibility of an SDCC premiere but again, other than among the uninformed Vile was never labeled an exclusive himself.

Bluefin's production is also more or less at the whim of Bandai and not their own, unlike Hasbro's role in exclusives. It's not an equal comparison.

A few hints from Bluefin:

"Are the the exclusives from a new or existing license?" Actually one of them is from a popular anime that's not DBZ related

"Metallic Armor exclusives?" You're getting warm, but not quite

"Can you describe what this exclusive that comes with a hint is?" It's some sort of pack

"Does the PR exclusive have some sort of armor or shield?" No...but THAT one is for something else

"Exclusives #?" 3 but 2 more pending final confirm D-Arts Bass and MonsterArts Evo Set on sale first there b4 going to retailers

"A pack you say, what's in the pack?" Which pack

The Metallic Armor thing has me thinking Saint Seiya figures, but I don't really know anything about that, exclusive or not. My guess is Robo/Gosei Knight for the PR exclusive now.
