The good people at Henshin Grid have taken a closer look at the two upcoming Power Rangers board games set for release in the near future.
The Monopoly board contains a variety of references to classic Ranger locations with six specially-selected tokens: Alpha 5, Goldar, Megazord, Morpher, White Ranger Helmet and Lightning Bolt. Trivial Pursuit also holds a multitude of questions from all seasons, with some answers provided by members of the "Power Force" fan-group. Originally set for release this summer, both games' release dates have been downgraded to "Coming Soon." Stay tuned for further details! ![]() |

Kind of a shame they are just two redressed existing games, I'm still a huge fan of table top RPG games and I think Power Rangers could really suit that style of fun and I love the idea of building my own Ranger episodes, mixing it up with rolls of the dice and effect and event cards.
And now I've imagined it in my head, it makes the reveal of these even more boring. I feel like I should make a partition or something 'why bother making cash in video games when you could make a great table top RPG with less money'.

I understand Mighty Mophin is the one people have the most nostalgia for, but I question the idea of using the MMPR lightning bolt and Alpha 5 as pieces. If it's suppose to be pooling references from EVERY PR Show, why not something from Samurai or Megaforce? Actually I'm more suprised that those two shows aren't represented in those pieces

You know, there have been generic RPG systems released solely so that they can be modified and altered by players to adjust them to the series or universe of their desire. Anyway, looks like Goldar won the poll. I'm not surprised, given the other two options were a cup and a pair of boots ![]()

I'm not a tabletop RPG player, but yeah, they have.
I thought it was GURPS, the Generic Universal Role Playing System, but the Wikipedia article makes it sound like it's not... But there were officially released generic RPG systems.

![]() I think my point still stands though…it's just strange that they go as far as to use the freaking logo as a piece for the game. |

There are tons of tabletop RPGs. For my money, I'd probably go with Cartoon Action Hour if I were to start a Power Rangers game. It was designed to emulate cartoons such as He Man, G. I. Joe, Thundercats, Transformers, etc.
