It's ironic. The last time purple was worn by a Senshi, it was Yayoi's grandfather, and before that it was Gou Fukami, and before that, it was Wolzard. All of them men, and yet all wearing a color closer to pink in the "gender specific color pallet." Which is why RJ wasn't the Violet Ranger, but the Wolf Ranger.

In fact, if Saban decides to genderbend a Kyoryuger to add another girl for PR, and go with either black or green and ignore Dr. Ulshade all together, Power Rangers Paleo Squad might be the most diverse season of Power Rangers since Zeo.
