Plus it doesn't seem like the ratings have any effect whatsoever, whereas every US series gets cancelled eventually, it's like a once in a lifetime moment for a toku series to get cancelled, even if half of them are tracking ratings through the floor.

I guess they don't want to make costumes for so many episodes then axe the series halfway.
They seem more content to change everything rather than kill a Henshin Hero show entirely.

It's not helped that Kyoryu is popular and gaining in ratings, so it's not like it's failing

It does still happen (Ultraman Nexus being the most recent example), but Toei would never do it with one of their big franchises. The closest we ever got was Hibiki, and they just totally ruined it with executive meddling instead of cancelling it. The last time I know of Toei cancelling a show was Metalder, which they cut the back 25% off of.

And I'm not surprised if Kyoryuger's ratings are improving. It's big, loud, dumb, and kid friendly, which is apparently what Japanese audiences want out of Sentai.
