Well there are a ton of reviews saying the exact opposite:

Even Gamespot, who has been less enthusiastic about Pokémon as of late (they gave Black/White and Black 2/White 2 a 7 and 6.5, respectively) gave it an 8.0:

"Pokemon X and Y benefit greatly from their leap to a fully 3D world, and have plenty to offer both veterans and novices alike."

Regardless, Pokémon reviews haven't been very useful for a long time. We fans already know what we like in Pokémon games, so unless Gamefreak messes up massively (unlikely), it will be a good game.

Apparently the Pokémon for the third installment (likely called Z) has been revealed as Zygarde: Click here. It roughly corresponds to the Norse mythology symbolism the other two had going on.
