After beating the 4th Gym Leader you go to a desert area crawling with Ground types.

Like the rare Gible or the common Dugtrio or the middle-ground Trapinch.

Commuting to work now and I was thinkin how nice it would be to have my 3DS to play. Too bad it's a bulky XL that I'm really worried will get roughed up in public.

I want to make more use of Aurorus, but Lapras and her Ice Beam wreck house. Not helped that Aurorus's refuses to learn Rock moves. I want to make better use of it's Refrigerate ability, but, surprise surprise, it barely learns any Normal moves, either...

Oh, and I'm still using Goodra because I love that thing.
