Kuuga is my answer, but if I find a worse one I'll tell you. You have this interesting setup of the origins of the Kuuga powers and the infighting of the Grongi but what do they do? Focus on random side characters and not the villains or the main characters. All story potential is swept under the rug in favor of two parter focus on kindergarten kids , or a female character we never saw before talking about her fears with her child, or a girl who's really good at the flute.
The only times the story went from terrible to decent was the episodes where Yuuske got the upgrades and some of the endgame Gurongi that could change forms. Even the upgrade stories didn't have the hero being beaten down and rising up to beat the bad guy with his new power trope. Yuuske only got the rising forms by accident after getting hit and needing a shock to the heart. Hell, the Amazing Mighty arc was just him saying, "I'll just get another shock to the heart then" no trials or tribulations, no overcoming an enemy from the new found inner strength the hero has. In the last episode, 49, all the characters stand around and its boring epilouge stuff, as if the writers are trying to say, "Yelp, that was a good series, so let's look back." I skipped the intros as for some reason they always rammed them with spoilers.

I've never watched a series I didn't enjoy, but if I had to say which was the worst series I've seen...I'd have to say Faiz. I enjoyed it and it had a lot of great things going for it(characters, the mystery of the orphanage) but it was just bogged down by the terrible pacing, over reliance of miscommunication for the plot to even function, weak ending, huge plot holes(seriously the Lucky Clover keep having a hard time finding Kiba when he is staying in the apartment Smart Brain is PAYING FOR) and pathetic main villains. Say what you want about Wizards villains not moving the plot forward at least they had Phoenix and Sora and when Wizard beat the Phantoms they replaced them with stronger ones, unlike Faiz who kept using Lucky Clover even after they not only always failed at their missions but even started to lose to the heroes and have to retreat.
On the other hand I understand the problems have with Decade but honestly I had no problem with it and enjoyed it a lot. Maybe it's because I went into it knowing it's reputation and expected a nonexistent plot and unsatisfying ending, and was surprised to find I was actually satisfied with it. I watched All Riders after the Amazon episodes and just placed the movie their in my head cannon and then watched the movie right after the last episode and it was just the conclusion I felt worked for a show like Decade. I LOVE Tsukasa, he might not be my favorite 'Kamen Rider' but he is one of my two favorite characters in Kamen Rider(the other being Ankh). I love his dry sarcastic humor and the fact he is just such a jerkass(though at the end of the day will fight to help others). He is my favorite type of comedy protagonist, like Black Adder if he had supper powers. The rest of the supporting cast were fun as well. I expected a fun plotless tail about a group of people traveling to different worlds(and introducing me to some of the ideas used in Kamen Rider) and fighting monsters in suits and I was not disappointed. It wasn't the best idea for an anniversary special but it was the first Kamen Rider I saw so that didn't bother me at all. And even now after seeing seven other Kamen Rider series I still enjoy it for what it was. Then again I don't really judge the series on whether they are good 'Kamen Rider' shows, since all I've seen have so many differences it's hard to pin that down. I love intricate plots but sometimes I just want a show to shut my brain off and enjoy. And Decade is that.

I'd say go for it ^-^ While it has too many weaknesses for me to ever call it a 'good show' I do not regret watching it at all. There is a strong main cast and the focus on character interacts instead of the fighting helped make you really care for them. Kiba is an awesome character and Kusaka is just so delightfully deranged. It also had subtler humor that is rare in neoheisei shows.
That's one of the reason Kuuga is my favorite Kamen Rider. The 'supporting' cast was just as important as the rider when it came to the plot, screen time, and character development. Which is the thing that bugs me about NeoHeisei shows, I don't want a show about one or two cool and important characters surrounded by nothing but comic relief characters/characters that have no impact on the plot. But that seems to be the way Kamen Rider is handled now a days so there's no point in gripping about it.

We've been joking about this yesterday because Convoy really likes Kuuga and we had a discussion of what show every Heisei Rider-Fan might like. I was just referencing to that, so kind of an inside joke- sorry for that
![]() As for the topic... I think every Rider season has some good and some bad points. I mean, I honestly like Kiva and Wizard, despite my opinion that both of them were terribly written. In the end, it's up to personal preference which show one considers worst and which one's the best. Though I guess by being objective, we should find some kind of consensus... but apparently we don't xD |

If you're anything like me you'll love it but I am a very biased Kamen Rider fan, and love everything I've watched.

Fourze was my first series (not counting dragon knight) and I loved it.
I also LOVED Kiva Decade and Wizard. The only series I've seen so far that I didn't like was Kabuto and I guess because it looked unappealing and I didn't like Kabuto's design.

Watch Ryuki. I enjoyed Fourze, it was the first season I watched start to finish (since Wizard, which is the season that got me into the franchise, was ongoing at the time I watched Fourze), but if you weren't already liking it the later episodes aren't going to win you over. Ryuki is far and away my favorite season and I won't hesitate to recommend it to anyone interested in watching it. Not the first season I'd recommend to someone getting into Kamen Rider as a whole, but definitely one I feel most should eventually look into.
