The metadata says your using an iphone 4s so I guess you don't really have a lot of control over the settings, but i think the lack of sharpness may be due to the shallow depth of field and being focused around the chest? if you set your focus on the head, it should fix that up.

I hope you don't mind, but I tried tweaking your picture a bit. The jpeg was kind of small so there wasn't a lot of room for editing, but I dropped the exposure and contrast, and boosted the shadows, whites, and blacks. Also turned up sharpening and noise reduction a bit.

Thanks for the tips! And I don't mind at all that you tweaked the pic. Definitely looks better ^_^. And yes, I take pictures on a white background, with a lamp as the light.

Here's the result of me "borrowing" my sister's Sony NEX5, same set up as usual, but took a picture of Gaim in Orange Arms. What do you guys think?
