Not at all. Kikaider is it's own thing entirely separate from the Metal Heroes franchise. VR Troopers is based on a combination of the Metal Heroes Metalder, Spielban, & Shaider footage.

though It not part of the metal men Kikiaider did inspire Metalder a little bit

It's tokusatsu Pinocchio. The 02 books were fun and Kikaider was the first to get the S.I.C treatment. Also, you can get the original manga in English from comixology along with Kamen Rider and Inazuman.
