I liked DC a lot more before the New 52 started. For the moment, I still read Batman and Green Lantern.

The only thing that keeps me from reading DC again is their fucked up continuity. They should just come out and finally say what counts, what doesnt and what happened when.

It sounds like you'll enjoy Earth 2, since all of its continuity is established in the series itself.

It reminds me too much of the state, style and content of comics in the 1990's when I stopped collecting (American) comics altogether after more than 20 plus years. While I haven't done that yet, I am getting pretty closes.
