Depends on your definition of the word anime (that isn't an invitation to start up a debate on it). Its an American made show in the style of Japanese ones, ala Avatar.

I don't think that'd happen, since RWBY is kind of sort of indie-ish, and it's American (Yes, the guy is Japanese, but Rooster Teeth is American) I realize that The Avengers are getting them as well, but that is a big budget movie that has a sizeable market in other countries outside of the US. I think the fact that it got any sort of merchandise is a miracle.

Fair enough. As much as I would love fully articulated RWBY figures I guess I should just be grateful for what we got.
