I doubt it, to be annoying would mean that they got an emotional response from you, and so far the talent of the Megaforce Rangers has been so non existent they can't even get any response out of you at all other than 'wow these guys are bland!'.

I'm more baffled that they decided to make him an alien, like not only is that a weird choice anyway, it's especially weird for a show with no plot for twenty five episodes.

It seems to be a reversal of the situation in Gokaiger, with the main team being humans and the special ranger being the alien, instead of the other way around in the Sentai.

I doubt the reversal "reference" was intentionally done, but still.

I think what Sentai Tamashi means is…depending on Silver's personality watching him act out of context from the Gokaiger footage is gonna be pretty painful.

He won't be. Gai was annoying because he was eccentric, excitable, loud and geeky, so he had a personality. That means he's outside of the calibre of anything Power Rangers has been able to churn out in a long time. I fully expect him to just be as dead boring as all the other Megaforce Rangers and to have excited and exaggerated movements in-suit while the voice overs are just the same bland generic chit-chat its been throughout the show.

I'd take an annoying yet eventually lovable character like Gai over any of the Megaforce rangers any day.
