To get back on topic, I've been interested in ToQger, but I'm not sure I should watch it. I mean, coming off the heels of Kyoryuger, I'm not sure it could live up to its predecessor, IMO.

It really depends on how you view a series beforehand. Personally, I think every season of Super Sentai is independant from the rest (except Gokaiger, but yeah anyway), so I usually don't compare them to each other and try to view every show as a thing of it's own. Worked fine for me so far. The only shows I ever really disliked in Sentai were Boukenger and Dairanger.

I dunno, ToQger looks kinda, sub-par. I really try not to compare series, but I'm just that kinda person who tries to see how they "sync up."

Well, let's say, if you like a bright and friendly Sentai with a somewhat deeper story in the background, I'm pretty sure you'll like it. I'd say so far, Toqger feels a bit like Goseiger, at least character-wise.
