best of both worlds, I would definitely support that.

But there still needs to be a character like Gai and maybe a character that claims to be American and can't speak Japanese.

That's understandable, lol. I LOVE Jiraiya. His American accent English threw me off the first time I heard him talk because I wasn't expecting it. His personality is interesting where he starts off speaking almost all English, but slowly starts speaking more Japanese later on. I later found out that his actor is a Japanese American raised in the LA area.
