You would want a mixed one. I would say pure special attacking if Diancie would've gotten a special attacking rock move, but no, they had to make Diamond Storm physical and make it unable to learn Power Gem.

Good thing is, is that Diancie can learn Earth Power from a move tutor in ΩR/αS. So that can be useful.

Why does Power Gem need to suck? It has perfect accuracy and decent base power, but is damned by it being Special (a move style very few Rock types can utilize) and is only learned by Pokemon that fit a particular gem-based visual aesthetic.

Yeah. Some stores get items in advance that are marked with a street date of when they're allowed to distribute them.
But since it's just a code, it's not like Gamefreak can come down and stop them.
