I liked the finale enough, but I also did feel a high bar was set by the previous episode, so in a way it didn't exceed expectations. But it was good enough, I don't really have anything to complain about it.

Overall I enjoyed this season a lot more than I was expecting. Capaldi has been a very entertaining Doctor, and the highlight of each episode. It also did quite a bit to develop Clara in ways that the 7th series didn't, so that was appreciated. Here's hoping the 9th series will be better.

It's a pity Death in Heaven didn't have a moment where Osgood had to get over the the fact the Doctor wasn't a young "attractive" man anymore, because that was really all that was missing from her repertoire.

Now that I think about it, I'm surprised they didn't. If she'd shown up earlier in the series, I bet they would have.
