Its about time that Marvel somehow gets the rights back. This shows that Sony will probably not make a good Spidey movie anytime soon. They have absolutely zero idea what to do with the character and Marvel presented them the ideal solution to their preoblem and they didnt took it.

I honestly can't believe Sony didn't jump at the chance to distribute Marvel made Spidey films. That just seems like an easy way to line their pockets.

Especially since Marvel proofed with Guardians that they are now able to legally print money

Stubborn pride is about the only thing I can think of. The only upside to this is that they won't be shoehorning the Sony Spidey into the MCU. At least if it happens now, it will likely be a Marvel Studios built version of the character.

One thing I hope for a MCU Spidey is that they keep him away from the avengers like they are doing with Guardians and are about to be doing with Daredevil.
