What if they reboot the franchise ?

They technically did so with Go-Busters. It was a break in the fandom where many old fans left and new people came to watch it.

And alot of older fans and kids jumped ship so they went back to the old formula with Kyoryuger.

With the way Sentai works I dont think a reboot like comics do would be necessary at all. Sentai already starts from scratch every year and the past shows are only mentioned on special occasions.

God no. The last thing we need is Toei taking business decisions on continuity and rebooting from DC or Marvel. Especially Marvel.

Marvel never rebooted so I dont get your point. Retcons maybe but reboots?

I meant them in the catagory of continuity problems.

Basically this.
There is no solid continuity, since the crossover movies are just fun little side stories whose only canon contribution is the occasional new mecha.

The only real change that happened in the last few years in Sentai was this:

With Gokaiger, they made a "gimmick" where there was something that interacted with all the toys. It proved to be very popular and very successful.

With GoBuster, they abandoned that gimmick and tried to take a less light-hearted approach and it failed in every aspect - kids didn't buy the toys, and no one watches Super Sentai anyways.

So with Kyoryuger, they brought the gimmick back (Zyudenchi). It worked. ToQGer brought the Resshas - it worked. Ninninger will have Shurikens. It will work.

That's as close to "reboot" as you get.
