He was straight up posessed by a demon. Bullseye kind of has that covered. His secret identity was released to the tabloids and not only he went to jail but had to stop acting as a lawyer. True that. Because villains don't even want to clone him, Mysterio once decided to ruin his life just because he knew he could never get Peter, villains straight up consider him the cheaper Spidey.
