I liked him in the show too, but aside from the silent badassery there isn’t anything that makes him stick out more from other Soundwaves. Animated is still the most original attempt on the character I've seen to this day. |

Cybertron's Soundwave was pretty original. Not that it was very good, being a DJ and all, but his design was cool.

The Unicron Trilogy had some really great designs. Cybertron Soundwave, Energon Rodumus, Armada Optimus... They all were different from what came before them without being unrecognizable.

Animated is still the most original attempt on the character I've seen to this day. It's always been a double edged sword with the silent watcher type characters. They keep themselves mysterious and interesting by not being a constant chatterbox and not getting into every fight possible, but it also means, as a real character, there isn't much meat to them. Animated Soundwave is still my personal favorite, but Prime Soundwave feels more interesting. Quote: They should've kept a DJ tone without making him a pseudo rapper.

I really hope Hasbro drops the whole "Aligned Continuity" mess once this new series has run its course. They claim now that Prime/NuRID take place in the same basic universe as the War for Cybertron/Fall of Cybertron video games, but there's no way the characters can fit properly based on the histories shown in both versions... |
