I understand the feeling... I just kinda get the vibe that I'm one of a select few that doesn't have an issue with MMPR geting so much attention, and because of that I fealt kinda... odd posting that opinion. Same thing on TFW for me, but there I feel like I'm in the minority that are tired of G1 getting so much attention.

MMPR is the show that most casuals grew up. Given how many people go to SDCC, most people who go there most likely only grew up with MMPR or stop after Turbo. It's no different with other franchises like Transformers, Yu-Gi-Oh and DBZ where most casuals only grew up with the show that was more popular.

Thing is Bandai America's products at SDCC and NYCC have become so scalper crazy it's stupid. Last year, more people in line (I walked the line to talk to people, I was never in line) told me they planned to flip the product because "Dude it's going for what my plane ticket was" or "It's such a huge investment, the Dragon Dagger will pay for my xyz".
The days of fans wanting it for themselves are now over.
