Your right, it shouldn't, but it doesn't hurt to occasionally have someone like you represented in a story. Growing up not seeing a lot of Hispanic or Black characters having their own show, or being the lead in their own cartoon can get to a kid and make them feel worse about who they are, if all they see is one type of person represented as the leader, or the hero.

Not everybody who's gay is gay because there's a "point" to it. Maybe they're gay because they're gay, y'know? |

Has there ever been a gay ranger is Super Sentai? We got a gay Rider in Gaim, but I have no idea what the deal is with Sentai.
Seeing it in Power Rangers, though, is probably unrealistic for at least some years still... |

^Ranger? I don't think so, but a side character was turned gay (I guess) in ToQGer by ToQ6.
I don't understand why any form of sexuality is explored in PR. Jake and Gia getting together made no sense and was pointless and I thought the same with Tommy/Kimberly, Zack and that girl he was with, and every other relationship ever explored in the show. It doesn't add anything. There is enough sexed up shows out there, why can't PR just leave it out? Although I do agree with AgieSiamang7 about having different people for kids to relate to. I know a kid from Iran and he loved Jake because they looked similar. It is pretty empowering to have someone like you to look up to. But the target audience is 2-11 year-olds, so sexual preference could be completely left out and the show wouldn't be any different. I am seeing a pattern with your threads, MalePinkRanger. It's cool and all, just seeing a pattern. |

So, if Power Rangers were to have a gay Ranger, what color should he be?
Again, I think Green or Black would be the best choices, since it would give more focus and emphasis to those Ranger colors who normally don't get much focus. Pink is off limits because it promotes inappropriate gay stereotypes to children. |

Again, I think Green or Black would be the best choices, since it would give more focus and emphasis to those Ranger colors who normally don't get much focus. Pink is off limits because it promotes inappropriate gay stereotypes to children. That argument has no merit since there have been a good number of rangers that were black or green which received quite a lot of focus. Almost every season we have had has featured a black or green ranger and spend the time t give them some focus and development. If you're expecting a non red ranger to be presented as the main color of the show than you're expecting a lot that won't ever really come to fruition. I thought you wanted equality? Saying that a color if off limits does not promote equality and only serves as a way to hold back a writer from going with direction they want. Pink would also not be inappropriate. Why do you think so? Because gay people are presented as feminine and thus pink makes them seem girly? That in itself shows that you have prejudices against homosexuals. Besides, pink is indeed mainly considered a color for girls, but why do we not hear people say it is inappropriate for girls if it is so stereotypical? It could hold down a character who is a woman just as much as you suggest it would for a man. Because it doesn't. There is no color that can or can be used by certain people whether it is because of their skin or personal preferences in terms of sexuality. The age group the show is targeted for may still believe blue is for boys and pink is for girls, but they're young enough to where they wouldn't even be aware of this stereotype your saying is bad. Some gay people are feminine, some aren't. There is no one stereotype and your restriction only shows that you are as uncomfortable with the idea of a gay ranger as you believe others would be and that you truly don't want equality in Power Rangers since according to you only certain people get to use a color. Again, these topics are unimportant and prove nothing and only serve as your platform to say what YOU want and what YOU believe, anybody Else's opinion doesn't matter and is meaningless, especially if it isn't exactly like yours. I think you really need to think about what all you truly want from the show and what isn't just an idea for a fanfic that seems to always be mentioned within your topics. Perhaps then you could think up a discussion truly worth having that won't make the other users go "Ughhh this guy again."

I honestly don't think they would give more focus to a green or black ranger just because they are gay. That would actually give them the perfect chance to ignore him by making him the third or fourth male on the main team.

「@Male Pink Ranger」
Why green or black specifically? Why not red or blue? You say the homosexual character would be given more focus if they were a Green or Black Ranger, but would they really be given less screen-time, emphasis or characterization if they were say, blue, instead? And I’m assuming that by “gay” you’re specifically talking about male homosexuals. Is that correct? What would be wrong with the potential homosexual being a female Pink Ranger? In any case, I know that I wouldn’t have an issue with Power Rangers featuring a homosexual―whether male or female―in future. ^_^
