ZZ is out in Japan. I've owned the discs since 2011.

Uh... better video quality, superior uncompressed audio, better quality discs that are harder to scratch and hold more information, etc. Not sure what you can't understand about that. Hell, animation looks so much more detailed on BD. Old black and white movies have much richer blacks, especially Film Noirs like Double Indemnity and Touch of Evil. The new 4K masters of Bram Stoker's Dracula is absolutely stunning. Last edited by Dr Kain; 10-29-2015 at 12:09 AM.. |

Because you get everything in HD. Blu-Ray has been becoming the main home video format for the last 5 or 6 years. Blu-Rays can be like 720p, 1080p, and 4K. Standard DVDs only support up to 480p (576p if you live in Europe). If you watch a DVD on a flatscreen TV, the picture will look upscaled. There is no reason to buy DVD's unless there is no other choice. I always buy movies and TV shows on Blu-Ray. I buy anime on DVD if there is no other way to buy it on blu-ray or if the blu-ray looks like shit (I'm looking at you DBZ!).

Although my laptop is about 6-7 years old so that might have something to do with it. |

Maybe you could tell the difference between 480P and 4K then?

It won't be in a few years. My laptop I got this year has 4K, so devices are integrating it slowly.

Blu-Ray players and HD TVs can be cheaper to buy now then they where almost a decade ago. I still remember in 2006 when my tech ed teacher said that HD TVs would take over in 10 years from now and he was right. In fact that they became more common quicker beforehand.
