I think the whole concept of the Hybrid is suppose to be metaphorical. What I believe that is the Hybrid is someone who has the intelligence and/or power of a Time Lord but the rage/hate and destructive power of a Dalek. But somehow the prophecy got confused and misinterpreted and the Time Lords believed that the Hybrid was an actual Time Lord/Dalek Hybrid, hence why in the next time trailer, they're experimenting on the Doctor

The whole half-human thing with the 8th Doctor was a lie. I believe that one of the audio books or novels for the 8th Doctor explains that.

Holy crap, this week's episode.

Unless the finale seriously drops the ball, this is definitely going down as the best year of the modern series.

I don't know, seasons 2-4 and 6 are pretty hard to top as far as finales go. Actually, all of the season finales have been top notch every season, but those four are easily the best. The only mediocre season this show has had was 7.

Eh, I think season 3's finale started off well, but the last episode was probably the biggest ass-pull of the entire RTD era. Personally, if we're talking finales, I have to rank 5's at the top - it's one of my favorite single episodes of the entire series and I am physically incapable of not sitting down and watching it if I stumble across it randomly. Really loved 8's, too.

I'm still laughing at the fact we were talking about Evolution of the Daleks a few days ago and, just this episode, the Doctor goes "Daleks would never be half anything!" Even he thought that sucked.

So yeah. Really good episode, not surprised Gallifrey is back , but am hyped for next week. 8.8/10

Okay just caught up on this week's episode because I was out last night. DAMN that was intense! I honestly think that wasn't just one of the best episodes since the relaunch, it could easily go down as one of Doctor Who's all time greats. I would hate to be the parent that had to explained some of that to their kids though - the show has been skirting the line of "family" for a while now that this one was definitely pushing it. Not at all complaining about it, just an observation.

Can't wait for the finale now, something tells me it's going to be a good one. Also, crackpot theory for the week - Did the Doctor say "the hybrid is me" or did he possibly say "the hybrid is Me"? Probably not, but with Ashildr coming back again next week it's something worth mulling over.

I highly doubt the half human thing will be making the rounds again though. Season 4 tried it's damn hardest to make that not a thing and it's hardly a popular moment in the show's history. Every medium seems to have tried to retcon it at least once

Ha. He was inside his Confession/Will the whole time.. Bigger on the Inside, Time Lord tech. But it still leaves who set it all up in first place to force him inside. My money is either on Rasalon not being dead or on Missy starting trouble

I half expect the Doctor claiming that he's the hybrid is a cunning ruse. Rule #1 and all that. Plus it seems like the kind of cliffhanger Moffat would do.
