Bandai Namco already owns the rights to Pac Man, so it's way easier to use him instead of someone from Nintendo.

Nintendo wouldn't have given them the rights easily, not without paying a pretty penny for them. Pac Man is just as iconic as Mario, so it's the most logical choice even if it does seem odd on paper.

Can I just say that I don't think Pac-Man is the most iconic character anymore? Mario is just as widespread to the older generation and, unlike Pac-Man, keeps his relevancy with newer generations.

Also, they should've asked for Pokemon. Ghost in a Pikachu parka, Wizard with a Charizard ring, Gaim (Or Baron) with a Tropius lockseed. It would've been easy~

Except Pokemon is also technically a Nintendo propriety so we're running into the same problem as getting the rights to Mario.

Nintendo only PARTIALLY owns the Pokemon brand, the people who own most of it are the Pokemon Company, and they're VERY strict with their IP. Pokemon amiibo rarely do anything because of them and they sued a guy for having a pokemon themed party. And I'd argue PacMan is a better choice than Mario, as Ex-Aid is about retro gaming, where Mario only had a few games, yet PacMan fever was everywhere

This is cool. I like it. Wish it wasn't in the yearly crossover with last year's show though. Those movies lack focus already.

I am hoping that this is a taste of things to come and the spring super hero movie is something like Kamen Rider vs. Bandai Namco. In addition to Pac Man, Bandai Namco's first party games include the Tales of series, Soulcalibur, Xenosaga (only saga), Tekken, .hack, Katamari Damacy, and others I'm forgetting. There's fun to be had here.


PS My wish list does include Watermelon Arms vs. a Katamari.
