Squirrel Girl? WTF? New Warriors are supposed to be Speedball, Nightthrasher, Namorita, Nova, and Firestar.

And the Defenders were supposed to be Doctor Strange, Namor, Hulk, and Silver Surfer.

If Carnage is going to appear in it then it should be R-rated. A PG-13 Carnage would be god awful. There is no reason for it something to be PG-13 if something was originally made to be R/M rated. PG-13 is fine for Spider-Man, The Avengers and Superman because they rarely go beyond PG-13 in the comics. However comic book characters like Ghost Rider, Daredevil, The Punisher, Invincible, Constantine, Spawn, Etrigan the Demon and The Specter need to be R rated because that's how the comics are. I even feel like something Suicide Squad should have been R rated since the comics got really dark at times. If you are over 17, you should not care if the movie is R rated or not. I'm personally sick of things being water down to be PG-13 for ages since movies like Robocop 3 (and the new Robocop), the first Alien vs. Predator movie, the Ghost Rider movies, Die Hard 4, the last two Terminator movies, Ghost in the Shell (live action) and 90's Mortal Kombat movies should not been PG-13 ever. They should not make something PG-13 just to sell toys and worry about upsetting people. In the 80's and 90's, we had a lot of R rated blockbusters and no one cared. Now these days, people don't want to see R rated movies since you had people bitching about Logan being rated R.

The issue isn't dumbing down, but rather how hard it's hit by it. Again, 90's Spidey was HEAVILY censored to the point it was utterly bizarre ('Spiderman must not injure pigeons when on rooftops' 'Spiderman is not allowed to throw a punch because it's too violent') but those are still enjoyable and got away with Punisher's origin story

Yeah. Some Marvel executive blamed it on comic fans not wanting diverse characters despite Miles Morales and Kamala Khan being everyone's precious children. Convoluted storylines, unnecessary crossovers, I THINK price increases and some other stuff are complaints I remember. It can't be comics dying out as DC's been pretty damn good lately I hear

Marvel is just looking for a scapegoat for their recent shitty stuff. I would imagine more people would read comics with the movies doing so well. From the looks of it, most MCU fans only like the movies and not the comics. Digital sales are not a big issue because physical copies are still selling well. Not to mention indy comics are still doing well too.
