Honestly I kinda agree, that’s really not that bad. Still I can absolutely understand why they wouldn’t even want to risk it, cutting out one episode that doesn’t even sound plot important seems like a much better idea than potentially stirring up something up.

It’s actually a bit more racist to compare him actually dressing as a literal monkey to a racist caricature of black people.

Because 'monkey' is often said to black people as an insult. It isn't a new thing either and I STILL can't fucking believe Marvel's Iron Fist series on Netflix thought it was ok to have Danny Rand call a bunch of black people monkeys when training them martial arts as that show already had enough controversy about racism.
