				 | Quote: The "discuss on the TokuNation forums" link on the news article doesn't actually point to this thread; it just loops back to the news post. Disappointing to hear the release is such a missed opportunity. Some of the Ex-Aid releases have made me question Bandai's interest in appealing to their toku customer base. When I first got into Figuarts, it was in part due to the fantastic accessories for figures like the Gokaigers, Shinkengers, and Kamen Rider W. (Flame Style was a mess, but the accessories were terrific.) That this figure is the only way to get screen-accurate versions of the blade is just... insulting, really.

Plastic capes have become inacceptable to me, even the hinged ones. I will never forget how hyped I was for the Gaim Kiwami Arms figure, and that fucking piece of shit plastic shell on its back just sucked every piece of fun out of me the very first second I held the figure. Cloth capes are the way to go, the sooner Tamashii realizes that and integrates them into every release necessary the better. It’s sucks so much to hear how this figure suffers from the cape and the shoulders. Thanks for your review and the pictures! |

can't believe Tamashii hasn't instituted cloth capes across the whole SHF line. We only get them in certain releases like DK Batman (still don't have that, need to check it out) That said - i am shocked there isn't a thriving aftermarket for cloth cape "conversions" IIRC you only need some wiring and quality high thread fabric, right? Then the skills to cut/shape the stuff

It's kind of a shame that a figure that looks this good, for a design from Ex-Aid that I love is so pricy.

One of the best Ex-aid designs in my opinion, was really excited when it was revealed since I just didn't like the color scheme of Fantasy.

This design might be my favourite from Ex-Aid period, and I hate how the addition of a plastic cape neuters any chance of this being a good figure. That would be acceptable on a cheap candy toy figure, but not something like this, where it's designed to be poseable and accurate. Which is a huge shame, as it is a fantastic design.
