On paper, the theory is sound. The main problems in practice are that there are very few opportunities to become incredibly powerful and that whenever more than one person tries this, they risk becoming enemies in an arms race.

I’m starting to lean towards Desast actively wants to help Ren, but has just about the worse advice and mentoring skills possible.
