But those really didn't work with the Decadrivers, lol

Okay, we got clarification on it. Basically they do have the ID code and will be read in the Geartlinger, but they said "recommend not to use it" as a disclaimer against complaints

Right, so it boils down to "it's metal so it's heavy and can easily damage things".

That is a very reasonable and good warning. I have a friend who makes metal dice out of aluminum and brass and the amount of people who complain about how the dice dented their cheap MDF tables is unbelievable...
