Yeah, Kusaka was pretty much what you described. And he was one of the few who could be Kaixa and not self-destruct right away so that also probably gave him a reason to be a total douche thinking they need him hate it or love it.

Yes, I've just watched the trailer and Delta's there. The title is kinda confusing, though. I thought it's the continuation of the summer film (Paradise Lost), because, like another user pointed out, the sequel to the original poem was called Paradise Regain?d.

You're right. Nothing looks post-apocalyptic here. Looks very normal to me as well.

What's not normal is probably the story. I bet the story is gonna be very confusing. Smart Brain is now an Orphenoch-hunting governmental body, led by Kitazaki, of all people. Shirakura mentioned that one of the reasons that Kusaka is possible to return is because Mari never saw him die and turn to ashes in the series.

Who knows? Takumi (and Mihara and Kaido) didn't see Kusaka die as well. The only ones who saw Kusaka's death were the culprit himself, Kiba, and the viewers. And now they say that Kusaka didn't die? Not only Kusaka returns to life in this film, but also Kitazaki/Dragon Orphenoch. Perhaps he's also a clone reconstructed from Orphenoch King's DNA. So, I guess Inoue and his team worked twice as hard to include those aspects in the "calculations", as Shirakura stated.

Extra stories are notorious for having retcons, asspulls, and other forms of funky logic. I think the safest form of post-series extra stories is side story, like Gaim's V-Cinemas.

What's not normal is probably the story. I bet the story is gonna be very confusing. Smart Brain is now an Orphenoch-hunting governmental body, led by Kitazaki, of all people. Zi-O's time reset revived a bunch of riders, including our boy Kusaka so ima go with that explanation until Inoue says otherwise.

I'm not sure about Zi-O, but Shirakura stated that this film ignores the events in Heisei Rider vs Showa Rider and Kamen Rider 4. Also, weren't the Faiz tribute episodes in Zi-O were written by Kento Shimoyama, not Inoue? Inoue wrote the Kiva tribute episodes and Rider Time side stories. So, Inoue never actually said anything about Faiz characters in Zi-O.

Well, this film is mainly a nostalgia bait, so perhaps the quality of writing is not the first priority. If this film can Axelerate the release of the SHF SS of the rest of the Riders (and the bikes and the Orphenochs!), then I'm down for it.
