Huh, so that's the end of Nyelv. For someone who prides himself in his intellect, that's a rather underwhelming way to go.
Bocca is going to reveal his true form next episode, and looks like the only way to defeat him is to unlock a new form for Gavv (the rumored Amazing Gummy)... |

In the scene @ 00:23, while Shouma is asking what's Lango Mango is trying to do, Hanto is asking him what he was trying to do by working with Nyelv. Hanto thinks Shouma was being manipulated by Nyelv, but Shouma says that he joined forces with Nyelv out of his own volition in order to save the human world. As expected, Hanto's still baffled why the heck Shouma believed in Nyelv's story in the first place. Hanto, whose mentor (Mr. Shioya) is among one of the several victims of Nyelv's and Kenzou's cahoots, naturally refuses to believe anything that Nyelv says or will ever say.
Meanwhile, Sachika the heroine-with-virtually-no-backstory-except-2-mundane-facts-that-she-has-a-filthy-rich-grandma-and-that-she-lives-in-the-same-apartment-complex-as-Ritsu is visibly shocked when she hears for the first time what has happened to Mr. Shioya at the end of episode 5 and at the beginning of episode 6. This is why she's such a very very very poorly written heroine. She's just too much of a busybody. She's too busy lecturing other people and spouting her hApPiNeSs hApPiNeSs hApPiNeSs nonsense that she couldn't see that other bad things happened to the other protagonists besides Shouma. She couldn't even comprehend the context of other people's problems and why they did what they did. The most obvious evidence of her lack of empathy was shown in episode 45 @ 08:15 when she made Lage 9 felt bad for Hito Pressing humans. She said that she regretted that she had once wished hApPiNeSs on him. I was like, "What, Sachika?" ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() In the scene @ 02:23, Nyelv is captured by 2 Butlers while having a bruised face, implying that he's been beaten up by them. Liselle is of course mocking him, while Jeebh is only looking at him in contempt. He asks Bocca to execute him right away, but Bocca refuses because he still needs him to finish his job and successfully execute his endgame, so Bocca decides to unshackle him. Why does Bocca decide to do this? Why can't Nyelv finish his job while still being shackled and monitored? Nyelv is an R&D engineer, not a field operative, so he can still work while being restrained and monitored by Bocca's Butlers/goons. It'd be hilarious if later Nyelv manages to set himself free and then help Shouma/KR Gavv kick Bocca's ass. That'd be the ultimate evidence of how myopic Bocca the dumbest politician's thinking is. In the scene @ 04:58, Shouma returns to the location where Sachika found the door (where one of Nyelv's agents was transporting several part-timers back into the Granute world) in a very very very convenient coincidence in episode 46 @ 07:57. He's wondering what happened to Nyelv after his plan to topple Bocca in episode 46 last week failed miserably. In the scene @ 05:55, Jeebh is asking Nyelv how the heck he dared to try to stab Bocca in the back. He just realizes that Shouma/Aka Gabu, not him, was Nyelv's trump card all along. Jeebh is seemingly sad of the incoming fate that's awaiting Nyelv, so perhaps it could inspire him to rebel against Bocca in the very last minute, which likely would end up killing Liselle instead, like I hypothesized in my post in episode 34 thread here. In the scene @ 06:47, Jeebh says that the reason Nyelv implanted him with the Henshin Belt Bitter Gavv was to compare his performance with Shouma/Aka Gabu's. Now that it was concluded by Nyelv that his performance was inferior to Shouma/Aka Gabu's, he feels betrayed and feels dumb for falling for Nyelv's promises. He regretted the choice he made because he's still unable to avenge Shita's death. Perhaps this is he was actually sad for in the previous scene, not Nyelv's incoming execution? Haha. ![]() In the scene @ 09:52, Shouma and Sachika are visiting Masaru/candy store owner guy/Mr. Hidamari's candy store. When Masaru asks Sachika if Shouma has been her long-time employee, she says that she didn't have any employee for a long time. She basically says that the part-timers' churn rate at her shop was very high, so she's grateful when Shouma began working there. Whaaattt, Sachika? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Gavv 03 @ 09:53 ![]() In the scene @ 08:37, Hanto is looking at Mr. Shioya's broken Hito Press, and is advised by Lage 9 who thinks that Hanto gets angry so easily. He says that they need to calm down and reconsider Shouma's plan of joining forces with Nyelv. In the scene @ 09:59, Nyelv is showing Bocca the prototypes of 2 new types of weird RG's called Dummy RG's, where the pink one is called Dummy PLE and the blue one is called Dummy OPE. The Dummy PLE RG is used for injecting humans with euphoria (aka hApPiNeSs) and the Dummy OPE RG is used to control them. So this is how Bocca is going to control humans. Q: "How to forcefully make humans hApPy and then control them?" A: "Just create an RG that can make them hApPy and then mind-control them with another RG." Soooooooooo awfully lazy and plot-convenient, exactly like Lage 9's very very very plot-convenient hApPiNeSs neurotoxin power! Bocca then asks Liselle and Jeebh to unleash many copies of those RG's in the human world, thus commencing Bocca's endgame: The human world farming plan. Those 2 RG's work by releasing Stomach's gaseous copy of Lage 9's awfully plot-convenient hApPiNeSs neurotoxin and then mind-control many humans at once. Yep, soooooooooo awfully lazy and convenient for the plot! In the scene @ 11:35, Sachika and Masaru/candy store owner guy/Mr. Hidamari who were also exposed to the hApPiNeSs gas released by the 2 weird RG's are starting to act strangely, blissfully hApPy. Lage 9 informs Shouma that the same thing is happening to many people in other places as well, and has also captured 2 of those RG's. He concludes that Bocca/Stomach must've developed a new type of neurotoxin that only works on humans based on his own very very very plot-convenient hApPiNeSs neurotoxin. Hanto, who is about to affected by the gas in the scene @ 13:01 as well, concludes that Nyelv has got something to do with this. In the scene @ 13:39, Liselle is using a copy of Kenzoumbie/KR Bitter Gavv v4.0's Bake Magnum to give command (that's transmitted via the Dummy OPE RG's) to the affected humans to come to a collection center where they're Hito Pressed by 2 part-timers. So convenient! In the scene @ 15:10, Lango Mango captures the 2 weird RG's and concludes that it must be Bocca's typical strategy, though he thinks that it's a good opportunity for him too. He's likely planning to strike Bocca at the very last minute, so his plan must be very very very good, unlike Nyelv's plan. He's basically been in hiding since official return to the story in episode 42, so if his plan to strike Bocca is still stupid as his previous plans, then this atrocious story is 1000000000000000000000% toast. In the scene @ 16:02, Shouma arrives at the collection/Hito Pressing center where he's welcomed by Liselle who orders Nyelv to get rid of him. In the flashback scene, Bocca is shown to have planned to execute Nyelv right after his endgame is completed, but Nyelv pleaded for his life for one last time. He pleaded to Bocca that he would defeat Shouma/Aka Gabu right in front of him and pledge his allegiance to Bocca. He says to Shouma that he's also afraid of his own life being ended by Bocca's hands (or order, to be exact, haha ![]() ![]() ![]() In the scene @ 18:13, meanwhile, Jeebh is strolling at a deserted neighborhood where the people there have been ordered to go to the collection/Hito Pressing center by Liselle. As usual in this atrocious story, in a very very very convenient coincidence, he encounters Lage 9 who is forced to Hito Press Sachika and Masaru to stop them from going to the collection/Hito Pressing center, and of course, he mocks Lage 9 for doing the same thing. Jeebh thinks that humans belong to Bocca/Stomach and asks Lage 9 to give him Sachika's and Masaru's Hito Presses. Of course, Lage 9 refuses, and then they fight, haha. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() In the scene @ 20:34, Bocca arrives at the collection/Hito Pressing center in the human world wo monitor the progress of his endgame. Nyelv proudly tells Bocca to see with his own eyes when the hordes of weird Dummy RG's that he made for him and scattered through the human world... Explode at the press of a button in his hand. He proudly tells Bocca to watch his ambitions be crushed, and proceeds to press the red button on the remote controller in his left hand... Aaaaaaaaaannnnnnnnnndddddddddd, instead of the Dummy RG's, it's him who is exploding @ 21:50-21:58. Bwahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!! I and my gf couldn't stop laughing at the sheer, utter stupidity, idiocy, braindeadness of this atrocious, Yuuya Takahashi-level plot twist (read: asspull) scene. Later @ 22:05 when Bocca's asked by Liselle what the heck's happening, he says that he ordered his goons to set Nyelv up. Buuuuuttttt, even if Bocca ordered all his Butlers/goons to carefully check each Dummy RG's for explosives and or other suspicious materials and clear every single Dummy RG unit before being deployed by Liselle and Jeebh @ 10:26, the remote controller was still ultimately within Nyelv's possession all the frakkin' time, so it should be 100000000000000000000000000000000% impossible for the remote control to explode! It's the remote control that's very very very crucial for Nyelv's ultimate, last minute betrayal plan, so it should've been with him 100000000000000000000000000000000% all the frakkin' time, which means that it was 100000000000000000000000000000000% impossible to be tampered with by Bocca's Butlers/goons! The writers got sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo lazy and couldn't find a way to eliminate Nyelv from the story. They couldn't make Shouma, Hanto, Lage 9, Bocca, Liselle, Jeebh, or even Lango Mango get rid of Nyelv, so they resorted to their usual tactic: 100000000000000000000000000000000% lazy writing. Gosh, this atrocious scene is the peak of the peak of the peak of stupidity, idiocy, braindeadness of this story so far. Congratulations, Gavv's writers and producers! You played yourselves and shot yourselves in the foot a gazillion times. Congratulations, Gavv's writers and producers, because you have successfully demonstrated how pathetically, laughably, embarrassingly, indefensibly lazy, sloppy, heavy-handed, and atrocious KR (God forbid) Gavv's story is. *facepalm *slow clap Gavv 47 @ 21:54 ![]() Next week: Shouma finally meets Lango Mango who says that his plan is to reclaim Stomach corporation from Bocca and rebuild the Stomach family. Bocca shows his full Granute form when fighting Shouma/KR Gavv, Hanto/KR Valen, and Lango Mango. Shouma is likely getting a new power-up, probably has something to do with Masaru/candy store owner guy/Mr. Hidamari. The KR Gavv Amazin Gummy form is likely just Poppin Gummy with modified paint/decoration, not an entirely new suit. Mmmmmmmmmmaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyybbbbbbbbbbeeeeeeeeee... |

I have to admit, for it's flaws, I really have been liking Gavv. It's got a lot of problems, but overall I still think it's one of Junko's better shows actually.
But Nyelv's death? Nuh-uh. I draw the line here. I had been hoping for Nyelv to have some interesting level of plot-involvement (and maybe his own unique Rider form) since the beginning. Early previews showed him analyzing the Gochizo's before the show began. That being said, he was one of my favorite characters from the show. More than just "the Brainiac of the group" He had a really interesting character arc, and if he had to die, I was imagining him becoming Bitter Gavv Marble Breacookie or Bake since he had been using that for the basis of his research. But nope. Instead he seems like he finally got his "I had this planned all along" moment to stop/defeat/hurt Bocca, but instead gets killed by his own bomb. Literally one of the most un-graceful deaths for a major character in Rider, like ever. Even had the audible "Oh" and everything. Like I would have been fine if Nyelv had been the consistent comic relief in the show, and the one time he could shine he messes up, but no, he was built up as this really interesting and actually important member of the family and then just got offed in one of the final episodes in such a goofy yet unfunny manner. Gavv is still higher up on my list of Reiwa Rider shows but this episode kinda took the wind out of my sails. |

Well, this episode does look very dystopian. All these mass scenes with people being pressed... Horror!
Shouma faces the consequences of his decision. Access to the world of Granute is now closed to him (and, apparently, to all Stomatch, since Lango is officially dead, Nyelv is a traitor, and Jeebh is dependent). And as soon as Shouma calmed down a little and began to enjoy life again, a wave of artificial happiness and submission occurred, engulfing all people. Faced with Nyelv, Shouma is not ready to fight his recent ally. But Hanto is ready, still harboring a grudge for his murdered mentor. All this leads to a spectacular fight with an unexpected ending, but more on that below. By the way, considering that Hanto froze with a silly grin, I think the show missed an interesting opportunity. It would have been funny if the toxin had only partially affected him and, having retained his free will, he had behaved grotesquely and inappropriately optimistically. Oh well, no big deal. Interestingly, this time Lakia plays the role of peacemaker. He understands both of his friends and suggests that Hanto put himself in Shouma's shoes. Unfortunately, he copes much worse with the task of saving Sachika and Masaru, which leads to a fight with Jeebh. This fight was not shown, but its outcome is quite unpredictable. Especially considering that Jeebh has reached the stage of acceptance in his suffering and is now able to act more thoughtfully. And now it’s time to talk about Nyelv. If Lango is a complete antithesis of Shouma, even in small ways, and Jeebh is following a dark version of his path, then Nyelv is related to the protagonist of the show by his original status. Considering how much younger the twins and Shouma are, he was the weakest and most worthless in the Stomatch family for a long time. You could say that he was a light version of Shouma for Granute. But the difference is that Nyelv had no help. He had no friends, and even with his family or people he liked, like Suga, Nyelv made deals, not made friends. And in deals there is always the possibility of betrayal. That is why Nyelv did not trust anyone but himself, and this is what destroyed him. It is funny that Bocca defeated Nyelv not by force, but by outwitting him, humiliating his main pride: intellect. But it was inevitable, because even the greatest mind will inevitably make mistakes sooner or later. The tragedy of Nyelv is that he is not a typical madman with no feelings, but deliberately behaves as such, because he believes that feelings are unimportant and dangerous. Ironically, hating his grandfather, he continues to follow his precepts. I think to some extent this applies to Bush. Nyelv's desperate desire to destroy Bocca is also not surprising. President Zeludak is basically a Zomb at its maximum. As for the death itself, yes, it looks ridiculous, but it doesn't bother me too much. There is a slight unexpectedness to it. Friedrich Barbarossa, one of the greatest military leaders of the Middle Ages, drowned while crossing a not very dangerous river, and Genghis Khan was killed by alcohol. Life is unpredictable. Plus, don't forget that this is the result of Bocca's actions. The preview promises that Lango will finally make his move. And Shouma, in order to defeat the invincible president, will make a deal with his older brother. I wonder where this will lead. Last edited by Mesnick; 08-10-2025 at 05:16 AM.. |

Another villain going down.
It seems that Shoma is on better terms with Nyelv and Lango compared to Jeebh, despite the fandom generally viewing Jeebh as the less villainous, with Shoma seemingly genuinely worried about Nyelv and agreeing with Sachika thanking Lango (despite her outburst to him before) for being a help in their rescue mission. Though dunno why Shoma addresses Lango with '-niisan' suffix but not Nyelv. Hanto's outburst is understandable, but yeah, though he talks about logic in Nyelv manipulating Shoma, he's acting based on emotion, about the grudge of Nyelv killing Soji before. Despite how him holding a grudge to him is understandable, he's the one portrayed in the wrong here to apologize after his outburst. Shoma thinks Nyelv is being honest, but yeah the better explanation would be that, villains can dislike each other, where the Stomachs don't like Bocca taking over their business. Though Nyelv died for real, not at the Rider's hands, but at Bocca's hands, I wonder if this, and Shoma seeing Nyelv's bloodied face, would make him or Hanto realize that Nyelv isn't backstabbing them, but becoming Bocca's prisoner. I wonder what damage Nyelv would do to Bocca, if his plan to blow up his Gochizos succeeds. Nyelv seems stupid to openly reveal his plan in front of Bocca, but it seems to be done upfront to the audience so they know Nyelv is conspiring against Bocca before his demise. Nyelv wouldn't be the final boss of this series, unlike Bishop from Kiva, and by this, it seems that Shoma wouldn't face the potential dilemma for Nyelv's plan, other than him being separated from Earth, also him likely still opposing the other Stomachs for protecting the other Granutes from them, unless the Stomachs will actually obey Shoma as the actual president. The Granute World might be better off without both the Stomachs and Bocca, with Bocca 'helping' in getting rid of the siblings. Sachika is now the one being made happy due to Nyelv's Gochizos, not realizing that she technically gets what she wants in making everyone happy. As a full Granute, Rakia now has to use even more drastic methods to stop her and Masaru; turning them into Hitopresses. Like Nyelv, he's also caught in a bad time where Jeebh accuses Rakia of being hypocrite, without knowing the full context. This also can be used by Jeebh to frame Rakia as turning against them by kidnapping humans again as a half-truth.

![]() Brutal, funny, *and* dramatic is quite the combination of moods to balance in a single moment, but somehow the ending to this episode pulls it off. It helps how the show in general has always had that sort of tonal range, I suppose. I mean, how fantastic is it that the big ultimate villain scheme that's been building in the background for a while turns out to center around a horde of adorable bootleg bad guy Gochizo being unleashed on an unsuspecting world? It keeps that light pop vibe going with the cutesy minions bouncing around on screen, but the colorful nature of how the scheme is portrayed doesn't do anything to diminish the suspense created by the scale of the operation, or the cruelty of what the goal of it all is. In other words, it's brutal, funny, and dramatic, all at once. So yeah, squeezing in that tiny reaction from Nyelv milliseconds before his final gambit blows up in his face felt about right to me. It made me laugh, but the sheer indignity of it also reinforces quite nicely just how despicable the larger villain here is, barely reacting to anything going on while all these other characters are out here putting their all into whatever they're doing, for better or worse. The saddest thing in all of this, for me, is how Shouma gets that moment where his immediate reaction to seeing Nyelv again is relief, only for things to go the way they do. For Shouma to actively demonstrate concern for Nyelv's well-being in spite of the history he has with his siblings suggests an immense sincerity on his end of that alliance in the same way Nyelv actually calling Shouma by his name suggested his own sincerity. It's not like they were becoming best friends or anything, obviously, but that doesn't stop it from being compellingly tragic to see things revert back to the status quo in a way that ends up shutting the door so firmly on anything positive that might've been. Although speaking of positive change, I also felt this episode highlighted how much Lakia has grown as a character in way that also helps underscore the encroaching sense of finality as the show marches towards its conclusion. His chat with Hanto was especially great. Seeing him readily acknowledge himself as being similar to Hanto, and then offering that level-headed advice, it speaks to the personal struggles Lakia has overcome, to how his relationship with Hanto has managed to become one that could actually reasonably be described as friendly, and to the respect he has for Shouma. It's like a reflection on his whole journey across the series, plus the way it intersects with the other leads, packed into one tidy little conversation in a scene that doesn't even make a big deal of itself. Pretty impressive stuff, but just like what I said about the tone earlier, tightly executed character dynamics has never really *not* been a strength of this show.

Is Nyelv's death of getting blown up by Bocca magically getting the bombs on Nyelv (somehow without him noticing) satisfactory? Not really. I mean, it would be perfectly logical if Lakia overextended himself in the next episode, overloaded his driver since no scientist ensured that the Pudding A La Mode Gochizo was fully compatible, and for him to explode into pieces with the Gavv cast turning to the camera with the "Well that just happened" look, but it would be so comical and random that it would undermine the character and story to that point. I mean, logically it would make sense. Lakia was just hired muscle with a poor plan to get revenge on the Stomach family, and had not expertise in combat strategy or scientific knowledge to verify that A La Mode would even work, but would the average viewer take that into account, or just naturally get angry that their favorite character got an unsatisfying and relatively inconsequential death? Similarly. imagine that we eventually get a Build remake in the vein of Amazons or Black Sun. Say, in the final stand of Grease, he inserts the Blizzard Knuckle into the Build Driver, turns the crank, and you hear the standard "Are you ready?" and then the belt malfunctions and Kasumi says "Huh?" and then just explodes and dies. Would that work Narratively? After all Kazumi is just a farmer who was experimented upon without any experience in combat strategy or scientific background. It would make a lot of sense if he and Sento did not anticipate that he would be compatible with the Build System, and then something go awry. Is that satisfactory? Absolutely not. The same applies to Nyelv. It not only is a death that you have to strain your brain in an insane bout of mental gymnastics to accept as logical, but ultimately is very unsatisfying with the narrative. Plus, if you really wanted a "character dies in an unexpected and tragic way" Jeep is the #1 go-to. Guy has been pushing himself without any understanding of what he is getting into, and it would make sense that overstep his bounds (whether just physically, or getting in the way of Bocca). Well, it's pretty obvious that the ending is dragging on and that's why it's going to be abrupt and rushed. It's just that, as I wrote, it suits me. Not happy or delighted, but it suits me. It's just that none of the Stomatch siblings have touched me enough to make me worry about the unfair plot twist. As the saying goes: "Don't be enchanted, lest you be disappointed later." So far the point is that Bocca has to be as invincible as possible to justify Shouma's alliance with Lango. And the fact that he outsmarted Nyelv is part of that invincibility. Then again, it was Bocca who made Nyelv's death miserable, and it's not a question of plot logic or Nyelv's character, but of Bocca wanting it that way. In any case, unlike the ridiculous rescue of Tsumuri in Geats around the same point in the show, at least they didn't skimp on the budget here.
