For me, I'm currently 26 episodes in to my rewatch, so just over halfway. Due to the authentic Japanese culture as the setting, I think this show is much easier to enjoy as an adult than as a kid in 2009 for whom the nuances were lost. The Jyuzou/Dayu subplot seems slightly different to how Deker/Dayu had developed and that climactic fight to the death between Shinken Red and Jyuzou was pretty awesome! Of course, I remember that's not the end of their rivalry.

I'm about 10 episodes or so in currently. Life often gets in the way of watching, but I wanna try to have it completed before the end of the year. After that, I'm thinking of moving to something like Kiramager, or Donbrothers.

![]() Personally, I think the casting director did an overall excellent job. Especially casting the then newbie Tori Matsuzaka. What a way to debut in show biz playing the stoic red ranger that is Takeru. And it was fun to see Hiroki Aiba as Ryunosuke for me, because prior to the show he was pretty much typecasted as the stereotypical prince charming types, so it was such a breath of fresh air seeing him as the comic relief with a heart of gold. Yeah, understandable. As for your next show, may I suggest watching Kiramager first and then Donbrothers. Only reason because Donbrothers is a one-of-a-kind show, so I strongly recommend watching the more standard fare Kiramager first which is quite back-to-basics, a palette cleanser of a show, in a sense.
