I've seen those statements and honestly, I wouldn't put too much stock into them. I think they were more just a fun thing that was said about the shows rather than an indictment of them. Like the shows still contain all the hallmarks of the Ultra series, just with their own twist, it's not like their entire purpose was to build up to a "now the real Ultra show starts here" moment.

Here's a thought I just had. Reiwa Ultra Q. It could be a side project that does its own thing apart from this year's upcoming Ultraman show starring previous Ultraman show alumni.

I’m totally here for this. A grounded, eerie Reiwa Ultra Q would be the perfect "dark" counterpart to the high-energy celebration of the 60th anniversary. We’re definitely overdue for some "weird" tales that don't necessarily end in a three-minute slugfest.
