So, Fire Candle went full-on Lu Bu after absorbing Rex's essence. *Looks at calendar* It is the year of the Fire Horse after all, so might as well, I guess.
AAAAANNNNDDD Mashiro went Ultra Instinct. All jokes aside, what a real tearjerker, this episode.

I didn't expect Rex to have instant killing ability. Because Rex has this ability, I feel he almost represents the concept of death despite death being officially represented by previous Sentai minions in the Calamity group.
Fire Candle in his new form looks very cool. Maybe his new form can be categorized as an Evil Sentai Ranger? Last edited by Blade Fang; Today at 03:37 AM.. |

More of an antagonist with a kickass suit, probably. I'd say he's in the same category as Wolzard (the purple version, not Fire) or Bio Hunter Silva.

This episode is a good example of how much can be packed into 20 minutes and completely turn the situation upside down without feeling rushed, rushed, or like a grand piano in the bushes. The Calamity's leader, Lex, explains that they are evil, but a necessary evil for the balance of the universe. And it was Tega Sword who broke the law, saving humanity. So Lex offers Kumade the chance to take his place without the hassle of a war for the rings. In other words, to fulfill his dream. But Kumade won't do it, because he didn't save the world just to destroy it with his own hands.
And then Kumade uses the power of Goode Burne, the very reason he was created by Tega June. The power of the Prince of Destruction, capable of destroying even Calamity. At least, its current incarnations, but it's quite enough. So, in the end, Kumade also fulfills his dream, and on his own, without the help of Tega Sword or Calamity. Even his repeatedly mentioned weakness to fire plays a role here, as it underscores the divinity of his act when Kumade burns along with Lex in the molten magma. Thus, all the rings fall to Hоeru, who proves completely unprepared for this outcome. Having just lost all his friends, he is utterly shattered. However, the next episode promises that he will finally find his wish. Amidst all this, Fire Candle's latest power-up and acquisition of his kaijin form goes virtually unnoticed. It looks like they're saving it for the finale. So, next week marks the finale. And not just the show, but the entire 50-year franchise. Well, it's been an impressive journey, one that will remain etched in my memory for a long time. At least for me. My farewell to Gozyuger is coming, and I hope I have some kind words for it. And I really enjoyed this one episode. |
