This is the second series I've had spoiled for me on this board, and it was one I just said I was planning to start watching.

Sorry. We had the community do one of our Lets Watch Wednesdays with Ryuki earlier this year. I take for granted that most people watched it then.

I understand, I need to be more careful on forums for franchises that have been going on a while. I just recently got into the series really with Wizard so I've really not watched anything yet.

Places like this people are kinda used to everyone having already watched most everything, so spoilers kinda come up naturally. But I figured I was in a thread that was relatively safe to not read any spoilers in.

Not blaming ya for it, just venting a bit I guess.

How are the showa series' by the way? I know they won't be as flashy as more modern ones, but are they still a good watch?

Yes, yes they are. Once you get past the differences from the modern era they are all really fun shows. Personally, my favorites are V3, X, and Black.

Gotta agree. Black is glorious and from what I've heard X is amazing. KITsubs has been working on the Showa goodness for a while so that's as good a place as any to start. Definitely check out any of the movies you can get a hold of as well. I know technically they aren't Showa but Toei considers J and ZO to be. They're both pretty good, ZO being the better of the 2.

Thanks for the recommendations. Will probably start with Black since Black RX has a bit of a special place to me, what with Masked Rider and all that.

Black is by far the superior of the two. It's also the only one that's fully subbed.

I'm on episode 17 of Ryuki. Man Gai is such a jerkass. Zolda is too but at least Zolda's fun to watch. Gai is just a big spoiled brat, Knight should have offed him. Ouja have been introduced and from what I read he should be a character to watch out for.
