I also think they might be able to get away with it in an adult-oriented movie or series. The target audience, while still presumably largely male, is probably past their "ewww girls" phase at that point.

That's not really true, the Riders in Faiz and Blade at least made frequent use of their bikes throughout the entire show.

So far kamen rider Marika is the only female rider that have decent amount of serious action. Cutie Honey and Sailormoon live action is the closest we have to a female tokusatsu.

Rx drive a car too. I'm more bothered by the fact we rarely see insect theme riders. Gatakiriba from Os is like the last insect theme riders I can think of. Remember the times Showa era and Heisei era was dominated by insect riders. Since riders isn't doing it anymore. We should do a full insect theme sentai next year like beet/stag gobuster and two from hurricangers.

There is one, she's in Ex-Aid and she's calledKamen Rider Poppy. Nico also is kind of a Rider, though she just uses a generic Chronicle suit so I don't know if you count that?

The show was very car-themed, it wouldn't really make sense for the main Rider to have a motorcycle. At least the side Riders had bikes.

Which leads me to my controversial opinion: what's the big deal with bikes? I've never watched Kamen Rider to see him riding around on a motorcycle, and I've never really been particularly fond of motorcycle sequences in the shows. I don't really understand why people get upset when there's not a lot of motorcycle action in Kamen Rider shows, other than "but it's called Kamen RIDER" or "it's tradition!" Like...sometimes there just isn't room in the plot for motorcycle sequences...

Maximum awesomeness is the big deal with bikes. Duh.

At least for me, I feel like bikes are something that hypothetically makes Kamen Rider distinct, and when given some love, you can end up with a guy like Kuuga, who basically made a martial art out of fighting monsters on two wheels.

It's just something that varies up the action a lot from the usual stuff and given that bikes are always going to be part of the franchise's ~iconography~, it always feels really lame to me when they just get forgotten about. Look at Ex-Aid. Everyone is actively called a Rider in that show but only Ex-Aid himself has even rode a bike, and even then only like three times in 30 episodes.

That's why the Tridoron is one of my favorite bikes even though it's a car. The guy was called Drive, and he actually drove places. It was a way more refreshing and novel concept than it should've been.
