That is one rockin' theme song, totally getting that playing in my ears ASAP.
The series is interesting me so far.I enjoy the concept of fairly competent humans fighting the monster threat alongside the hero/heroic monster.Gotta agree that I'm not that into Nagi.I really don't like that archetype of the woman who takes everything WAY too seriously, doesn't like the protagonist(s),has to rain on everyone's parade, etc.Add on the fact that we're probably not gonna learn why she's like this for a while, but I have a feeling it's gonna be something as typical like the woman in The Next. Nexus himself is cool.I would've preferred the more armored look from The Next, but he still looks good. Also, maybe it's because I'm more used to MOTWs but are we gonna get a new Space Beast any time soon? After 3 episodes I'm getting a little tired of those worm things.I also wanna know when the events of The Next are gonna be referenced,if anyone can give me a simple soon or later that would be nice.No one seems to acknowledge Ultraman in anyway besides Kazuki even though it was kind of a big thing that happened 5 years ago.Maybe TLT somehow mindwiped everyone,I don't know. I'm liking this so far and now I gotta find me an MP3 of that theme song ![]() |

What annoys me most about these kinds of suits is the lack of care from the directors. If you have to make the suit out of like cloth or rubber or whatever it is, fine, but don't them put him in a position where the suit bends and billows out in the middle because then it just draws attention to how that is obviously a dude in a suit on a scaled set. That totally pulled me out of the otherwise awesome moment when Nexus first appeared, it just seemed so unnecessary when they could have avoided that so easily.

Agreed. The worm things are already getting old, needs more space beasts. The whole mindwipe thing may be convenient for the the plot and the TLT's operations but I'd really like to know what it's all about. When/if will people remember? How does Kazuki know the name Ultraman? This first week presents alot of questions and seeing as this is a rather short show I expect to get answers fairly quick.
Anyway, just watched episode 3 so I'm all caught up for this week. It's going to be hard not to just keep going. ![]() I liked the fight scene between Nexus and the giant tentacle vagina monster - much better than what I was used to from having watched the original Ultraman. The character stuff is engaging, too. I'm really like Nagi, although I'm not sure how much of that is on her own merit and how much is just transference of my love for Yasue Sato's role on Garo. Either way, I'm glad she's clearly one of the lead characters here, as opposed to Captain, Other Chick, and Random Guy. Also, Chester Gamma? That's not how aerodynamics work. The other two jets were already pushing it, but there is no way in hell that thing can fly on a world with real physics. |

From what I've read it was a short show because it got cancelled - it was originally meant to run a full ~50 episodes. I'm hoping that doesn't mean the ending is really rushed.

#lolfansubwars ![]() Seriously, though, I've been using the ones that were linked to from here. They have some typos, but so far they work just fine. |
