Yeah I wasn't expecting either. I guess the logic was they needed to attach a big name somewhere and Rita was the way to go with it.

And it totally works for me, can't wait to see what she brings to the role.

I approve of this casting. Nowhere does it say Rita needs to be Japanese, as so many on Facebook seem to be lamenting...she's an alien, after all.
