So is it worth watching? Oh was there at least other monsters besides Godzilla?

Blue Gender is a pretty good show despite the shitty ending that it has. It does have giant bugs in it. It's kinda like Starship Troopers in a Mad Max type of setting it. I remember the bugs in that show where pretty huge though.

Watching Monster Planet did remind me a bit of Blue Gender with a similar post-apocalyptic Earth setting with humans fighting against giant monsters and wanting to take back the Earth from the invasion.

Kinda. Sorta. There are some weird dragon kaiju that pop up for like five seconds total. But thats about it really. For a Planet of Monsters there arent really many on it it seems

I liked it. No it isn't great. I didn't like the human characters but I rarely do. The fight scenes were good. I had issues with the overall plot. Planet of the monsters is a misleading title especially given the variety seen.

I really want to talk spoilers.

Example: I find the tremendous lack of things happening as well as the movie throwing a shitload of exposition at us without really building it almost as if this series is meant to be a sequel to something that does not exist, its biggest fault. Honestly I feel like the story of the monsters coming and eventually Godzilla showing up to destroy them far more interesting, but really I could just watch Pacific Rim and Legendary Godzilla to get that experience with far better visuals than this stilted, inorganic CGI
