However, it's male, so while I can breed you an Adamant Torchic, it can't have the Speed Boost ability...

Actually it can. As long as you use Ditto, there is a small chance for the hidden ability to be passed down.

That was the case before 6th gen. People keep discovering changes they've made. It's so much easier to do everything now. A lot of limitations in breeding are gone. I think moves can be passed down from both parents as well. Not sure of the required conditions though.

Not sure if hidden abilities can be passed through male/female pairs, but should be able to pass with Ditto.

Do you have a good breeding guide? I'd love to learn as many things as possible.
