Oh of course... but I feel like interest usually is given for a reason. If you like this show as much as you do, there really much be something redeemable about it... and I will desperately hold to the end because I know that at least one person out there says that it's pretty good. If it isn't... whatever... I can say that I saw the series from start to finish. But yah, I loved MMPR growing up, but as an adult it's merely nostalgia. Super Sentai all the way
![]() ...snip Of course, don't worry... I respect that everyone has their own opinions. I just like challenging things and asking questions. Besides, as of this moment, you're the resident PRLR guru... I'd expect you to correct me from here on out. But yah, don't think I'm jabbing your opinions... keep on truckin Carter, Chad, Joel, Kelsey, and Dana are all so earnest in their behavior and delivery. There's no winking at the camera here, this stuff is Deadly Serious (tm). Unlike Time Force, which read like a fanfic, or Wild Force, which was like it was translated with Babelfish from Gaoranger, this is old school MMPR style stuff just updated to hit with a new set of powers and characters, and it's that earnestness which I think draws me in. It's nostalgia for me as well -- I watched this as it aired in 2000, while I was in college, with my friends whom had (mostly) just gotten into tokusatsu thanks to me. (I did have one friend who was a PR nut -- he had an insane amount of interest in Astronema/Karone. When she came back to Lost Galaxy, he was... excited, heh!) So there's a lot of great memories for me of taping this show (along with Pokemon, Digimon, Batman Beyond, etc.) on Saturday morning and spending a good portion of Saturday afternoon and evening piled into a dorm room watching them. Furthermore, I'm madly in love with GoGoV. I love that show and that team. The uniforms, the meka, the kaiju, the music, everything. So an American version of that just means that I get to see all those great meka and monsters, and that warms the cockles of my cold, shriveled, dead heart. I do appreciate your POV from being in the entertainment industry. I'm an engineer, so production and things like that are not something I am really familiar with and not always qualified to be critical of. But as the cliche goes, I know what I like. ![]() I know I am going to be in the minority with LSR, and that's cool. Tokusatsu TV and Power Rangers in particular is so wide and varied that there is room for all sorts of likes and dislikes but at the end of the day we all still dig watching folks in spandex fight rubber suited monsters. Win win! ![]()

I think Mint appears in the background of one episode, actually...

I have managed two episodes so far. It's hard, I'm not going to lie. I'm thoroughly entrenched in Kamen Rider Ryuki right now (brings back memories of Kamen Rider Dragon Knight and the excitement I got out of that butchered show). DaiRanger and LSR are thus taking the hit on my "THIS HAS MY ATTENTION" meter.
Do love the LSR theme instrumental though. |

Yeah, I love this show and I have not had time to watch the next 5 episodes, either. For me it's not even that I am watching Ryuki or Dairanger; I'm just busy as heck at the moment.
The main thing I remember from this batch of episodes is the debut of the Supertrain Megazord in Rising From The Ashes. At the time there was a lot of speculation that the Supertrains would end up being the same size or maybe slightly larger than the Lightspeed Megazord. Of course, it ends up being gigantic, which is appropriate, and made everyone happy. (You have to remember that at this time it was a much different world when it came to get getting tokusatsu news and spoilers.) Cyborg Rangers actually had some really good character bits in it. There's a scene where the controllers of the Cyborg Rangers order the Rangers to turn over their Morphers. The team's reactions to this are really good. For one thing, we get a real moment for Chad, where he refuses to let the Lightspeed agent take the Morpher off his wrist. It was the most emotion we had seen from Chad up to this point. Joel and Ms. Fairweather also have a moment in that scene, too. If I am remembering correctly, Carter has one of the most hilariously awful lines in the run of the series in Wheels of Destruction. When Ms. Fairweather shows them the Lightspeed Cycles -- which are fancy motorcycles with sidecars -- his response is "What are they?!" ![]() ![]() Also, the Vyprari was pretty cool! ![]()
