I'm watching the last ep of G-Reco.
I kind of have no f#cking clue what's going on. But most of the key players had prior appearances, like Fellini, Mao and Yuuki. Whereas in Try all the finalists except for Sakai where introduced halfways through the show at best, meaning they had nowhere as much character. |

I think we can all agree that Try could've done much better in the character building department, but it could also be chalked up to the amount of episodes they had to work with.
If they had more, I think we would have at least had more information on everyone, even the smaller players. I enjoyed Try, and some of my favorite suits are in it. I love the Denial (obviously) and to see the Full Cloth in an actual animated series, even if it was a model kit.....wow.

yeah, but we had Kiririn, Fellini, Aila, and so many other characters that got to be fleshed out.
it's because every opponent was a single character that could have enough time to develop at their own pace. the opponents in Try are 3x as big at least so there's a lot less time to go in them. EDIT: Dammit I did it again...

It could mostly be chalked up to the writers going back and reassessing what constitutes a "team".

I've only seen a few drops of Recon G, but it is not my thing. RIP in Gundam, Gundam.
Hopefully the next Gundam show will be cool. In the meantime I'm watching 08th MS team, and have G Gundam and the last eps of Turn A on hold until I get the models. It's a hard wait, though, and I kinda want to get EW Deathscythe Hell and HGFC Shining off Mandarake. |
