The Bird helmet, human face lion chest and bull codpeice being the 4 faces of the Cherubim and the wheeled Moai and Dogu mecha are the "wheels within wheels" Ophanim and the fact they form legs because Ophanim are also called Thrones.

Expand a little on the origins and meaning of the two, and why Ohranger Robo would look like them?

I felt the same when people were saying to buy Zyuranger even if they didn't like it, because there was a chance Dairanger could happen.

I hate that I'm even saying this stuff and being this down on it all, but I wanted to get it off my chest.

In an ideal world, Toei would be doing what Tsuburaya's been doing with Ultraman and putting it up on Crunchyroll worldwide. I don't even think it'd muddy the waters any in territories where Power Rangers is broadcast.

In closing, by all means support these things if you can and want to, but don't expect everyone in the fandom to think it's a positive.

Isn't there usually a way to change the region on a DVD player? Or are newer ones made so this can't happen?

You could just put aside some money for the time being and save up for a multi region dvd player that way. Sure you would be spending a pretty penny considering you'd be paying for shipping, the player and the dvd's themselves. Though if you wanted to see these shows saving up could be a good thing.

Now I haven't bought one of these dvd's yet, nor do I think I will for a good amount of time. The only toku I've enjoyed in the past few months is Amazons. The past few years of Sentai have put a sour taste in my mouth. Plus I just spent a beautiful penny on a trumpet.

Red - Mesopotomia - Phoenix
Green - Greece - Taurus the Bull
Blue - Egypt - Sphynx
Pink - Rapa Nui (Easter Island) - Maoi Statues
Yellow - Japan - Arahabaki/Dogu Statues

As for King Ranger, he seems like he is Egyptian, but as Phantom Stranger said, he represents Pangaea more than just Egypt.

Anyway, I've already deleted my Ohranger files from my hard drive sans the movie.

Yeah, there are some newer ones by certain brands that are made so it can't be done.

Someone also told me using VLC can bypass the region coding on a disc, although again, this doesn't work with certain drives. Maybe I'll buy a cheap region 1 disc as an experiment to try this

I'm standing by what I said though and frankly in this day & age region coding and geo-blocking seems really archaic to me.

Personally, I thought region coding was garbage 15 years ago. It is the dumbest thing ever invented. If companies are so afraid of one product selling in another country, then how about releasing it in EVERY country? BAM!! Problem solved.

If someone truly wants to, they can get around the region coding, so the only one it is really hurting are the manufacturers. It's just like companies that decide to put tons of "Don't Pirate" cards in front of their movies and load the disc with copy protection. It's not affecting anyone except those who are following the law.
