I have no idea what anyone is talking about anymore.
Does anyone have a link to the Dynaman parody dub? |

Dude, that is CarRanger. He is supposed to look dorky because that is the point of the show.
EDIT: Anyway, I got the complete MMPR set today and watched the first disc so far. It is going to take me a while to get through this whole thing. Last edited by Dr Kain; 06-25-2013 at 06:12 PM.. |

just finished watching a nostalgia critic review of "Turbo: a power rangers movie" and dear lord i just couldn't hold in my laughter. at some point near the end he hit the nail on the head about fans of power rangers who are now adults (trust me it's not bad).

Watching that actually made me want to give Mighty Morphin a chance again. I know that was the Turbo movie, but I think Doug's points at the end are relevant to all early Saban. I was so spoiled by Lightspeed Rescue and intermittently onwards where the series would try to have actual stories and characters that Mighty Morphin paled in comparison.
If I try it again, with 'it's just meant to be fun' in mind, I'm thinking I might enjoy it.

Speaking of "it's meant to be fun," I picked up the second volume of VR Troopers (Season 1, Volume 2) off of Amazon yesterday. Wanted just to mention that earlier pressings of this set were missing an episode (specifically, "Grimlord's House of Fear," the first episode on disc 1). The set I received yesterday had the episode, so Shout Factory seems to have addressed the issue. So if you were holding off because of that, it seems you should be good to go.
I'll need to finish Volume 1 before I start Volume 2, but I do so enjoy VR Troopers. It's like MMPR with less continuity.

I think VR Troopers has aged the best out of the Mighty Morphin, Beetleborg, Knights of Tir Na Nog days. I guess because VR ripped through like a thousand different sentai shows it's so balls to the wall batshit that it is just hilarious.

On the subject of Shout DVDs my Beetleborgs Metallix part 1 arrived yesterday. Probably not going to give it a watch until part 2 comes out though so I can do it all at once.

Beetleborgs is the one Saban tokusatsu adaption show I never got into. The insert stuff was just too much for me. Love the B-Fighter designs and all, but no, just couldn't do it.
